Dr Hastings Eli Chiti PMJF

Board Chairperson

Dr Hastings Eli Chiti is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Insurance Brokers Limited (Ltd). He sits on other boards some of these being Guardian Reinsurance Brokers Ltd (Chairman), Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank (Member), The Bible Society of Zambia (Member), Nange Travel & Tours Ltd (Chairman). He is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Zambia, and Trustee of Insurance Brokers Association of Zambia. He was awarded a Doctorate in Business Administration specializing in Insurance and Risk Management (Honoris Causa) by the Commonwealth University in the year 2021. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute- UK (ACII)and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Zambia ( FIIZ). He is a Past International Director of Lions Clubs International (LCI) having been elected to the Board in July 2017 in Chicago, United States of America (USA). He is an Ambassador of Good Will, the highest honour Lions Clubs International bestows on its’ members. He is also a New Century Ambassador, a Major Gift Donor and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. He loves serving humanity and this is demonstrated through the awards bestowed on him by Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF). He is a real estate developer and a small-scale farmer. He has been a member of the Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) Board and was elected to the position of Board Chairperson for two consecutive terms, 2018 to 2021 and 2021 to 2024.
Dr Grace Chipalo - Mutati

Vice Board Chairperson

Dr Grace Chipalo-Mutati has held several positions in Zambia among them Senior Medical Superintendent of the first Public Eye Hospital, Consultant Ophthalmologist, Vice President for Zambia College of Medicine and Surgery, Senior lecturer at University of Zambia school of medicine and the Levy Mwanawasa Medical University. She is an Ophthalmologist, a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and fellow of the Eastern African College of Ophthalmologists (EACO). She holds a Master’s in Public Health (Eye Health) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She was the Principal Investigator for Rapid Assessment of Avoidable Blindness (RAAB) in 3 of the 10 provinces and was awarded International Agency for Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) Vision award in 2020 for contribution to Eye Health in Zambia. She pioneered the introduction of the Master of Medicine (MMED) in Ophthalmology and contributed to the development of the curriculum for the University of Zambia. She further, supported the development of the College of Ophthalmology of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa (COESCA) curriculum for residency training. She is strong advocate for improved eye health service delivery at all levels of health care. She has been a member of the Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) Board and was elected to the position of Vice Board Chairperson for two consecutive terms, 2018 to 2021 and 2021 to 2024. She is also the Chairperson of the Projects Committee
Eng Sanjay Balid PMJF

Eng Sanjay Balid is the Managing Director of Art Engineering (1971) Ltd. He holds a Bachelor in Engineering and Commerce and a Masters in Business Administration. He is a member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia, the Engineering Registration Board, and the Indo-Africa Chamber of Commerce. He has sat on various Boards among the Art Engineering (1971) Ltd. He has been a member of Lions Clubs International (LCI) for over 13 years and is a Past District Governor for District 413 Zambia. He was recognised by LCIF as a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow for his contributions to the association. He has passion to serve the less privileged. He has been a member of the Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) Board since 2020 and he sits on the Projects Committee.
Eng Robinson Misitala PMJF

Member

Eng Robinson Misitala is a Aeronautical Engineer, International Airport Professional (IAP), Aircraft Accident Investigation Specialist and Aviation Business Executive with more than 25 years of experience in the aviation industry. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Engineering Institution of Zambia. He is also a member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators and Institute of Directors. He has served on several aviation industry boards and committees that include Airports Council International (both World and Africa), Royal Aeronautical Society, IAP Community of Practice, Zambia Air Services Training Institute, Zambia Airways (2014) Limited and Engineering Registration Board. He is a member of Lions Clubs International and was bestowed with the Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow (PMJF) in view of his financial contributions to the association. He has been a member of the Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) Board since 2018 and he is the Chairperson of the Procurement committee.
Ms Christine Kasonde MJF

Ms Christine Kasonde former Teacher has been a Book Publisher for over 39 years and is currently the Managing Director at Maiden Publishing House. She held positions in various organizations which include NECZAM (national Education Company of Zambia) which was a subsidiary of Kenneth Kaunda Foundation, the University of Zambia and Longman Zambia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the University of Zambia, advanced Publishing Diploma from Oxford and many other Management and publishing qualifications. She has been a member of Lions Clubs International for over 25 years and is a Past District Governor for District 413 Zambia. She was bestowed with the Melvin Jones Fellow (MJF) in view of her financial contributions to the association. She has been a member of the Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) Board since 2018 and is a member of the Procurement committee
Mr Emmanuel Kangwa

Mr. Emmanuel Kangwa is Company Director for Kenward Electronics Limited, a company that has been involved in the provision of Electronic and Light Voltage Electrical solutions to the mining industry for 30 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and Certified Accounting Technician – UK. He is also trained in Corporate Governance. Mr. Kangwa is board member of Blue Oak Investments Limited and the University Council Subcommittee for Marketing and Public Relations of the UCZ University in Kitwe, Zambia. He is member of the Mine Suppliers and Contractors Association of Zambia. Mr. Kangwa has been a proud member of the International Associations of Lions Clubs since 1997. He has served the association in various positions and, in 2021, he was elected as District Governor for Lions Clubs District 413 – Zambia. He was bestowed with the Melvin Jones Fellow (MJF) in view of his financial contributions to the association. He is a member of the Board of Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) as Immediate Past District Governor and further sits on the project committee.
Mr Mudford Z Mwandenga MJF

Mudford Zachariah Mwandenga is the Managing Partner in Messrs. M Z Mwandenga & Company. He has held several positions among them Legal Counsel and Director of Corporate Services in the Zambia Development Agency, Senior Legal Officer and Legal Counsel in the Zambia National Building Society to mention but a few. He is the Chairperson of the Zambia Human Rights Commission, member of the Steering Committee of the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI), member African Commission on Human and People’s Rights (ACHPR) representing the Southern Region a position held until 2021. He is also the Chairperson of a Non-governmental organization, Opportunity Centre, served as Trustee on the Examinations Council Pension Trustee, Member of the Advisory Committee on the Patents and Companies Office, Board member of the then Pan African Building Society, Member of the Mulungushi University Staff Tribunal, Board member of the Zambia Institute of Air Services and Board member of Premium Medical Services Limited. He also serves as Commissioner of the Small Claims Court in Zambia. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia having been admitted to the Zambian bar in 1982 He has been a member of Lions Clubs International (LCI) and was bestowed with the Melvin Jones Fellow for his donations. He has passion to serve the less privileged. He has been a member of the Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) Board since 2018 and he is the Chairperson of the Legal, Finance and Human Resource Committee
Dr Lilian Musonda

Member

Dr. Lillian C M Musonda is a Head of the Eye Unit at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital. She is an Ophthalmologist and runs specialized Eye Clinics. She has a multi-disciplinary background with practical, professional, academic and research experience in General Medicine and Ophthalmology. She has interest in teaching, research and has vast experience in the delivery of quality eye health services. She has been a member of the Lions Aid Zambia (LIAZ) Board since 2021 and she sits on the Projects Committee.
